Anyone have 4dKH solution?

Just wanna check anybody here DIY your 4 dKH solution for CO2 drop checker? Or please advice where to purchase?

I've done it before without too much trouble, but presently I've reverted all my tanks to low tech for the time being.

Wanted to concentrate more on breeding shrimp than growing plants, heh.

NA might sell 4 dKH solution though, maybe give them a call?

Went NA and they have 1 that is pre-mix (CAL Aqua) and the other 1 ask you to add aquarium water!

Does the CAL Aqua solution package come with the reference colour solution as well? I own one of these drop checkers, but I've not had to get refills for it yet.

I believe they have 2 model, one with reference color solution on top, the other one just like normal drop checker. But I do not think there is a point to have reference color. AS long as it run from blue to green, it is good enough indication already.

So you have the double drop checker whereby you fill 1 compartment with indication solution and the other fill with reference solution. Was thinking going back to NA to get the indicator solution first.

Went NA this afternoon to get the CAL Aqua indicator solution for drop checker. Unfortunately they do not have stock for the reference solution,so if you need it,better call NA to order first.

Thanks for the heads up. I still have a fair bit of both solutions for the CAL Aqua drop checker, was just curious for future reference.

1 Is drop few drop of the tester & aquarium water (as per instruction given in the package)?
2 Or drop few drop of the tester + 4kdh or what solution together ?

no2 is the correct way. You really want to measure the pH cause by CO2 and not the pH of your tank water which can be cause by many thing

Maybe can get the CAL Aqaua solution as it was already premixed and saves the trouble of mixing 4dkh.

You need to buy the indicator since this is the solution needed to your drop checker. The reference will only give you the ideal green color to compare the reading of your drop checker and this is only use with the CAL Double Check CO2 checker.
