25 with fan. i got 10 wild bee, 30+ cherry and 2 crs
shouldn't be a problem. not as active may be good because its not as stress.
50 shrimp is way too many for a 1ft tank IMO. Do you have many plants in there?
i have taiwan moss, parva, pearling, unknown big leaf plant and 2 marimo moss ball
Just make sure you don't move the tank regularly, the bee and cherry could be trap in the moss if you are not careful. How about taking a photo and upload so we can appreciate the effort that you have put in?
my shrimp always like to hide inside the ship. if inject too much diy co2, will the shrimp die? recently i got 2 cherry died but my 2 crs still ok. then i faster remove the co2
1. The moss will not kill since it is a ball. =)
2. Plenty of space to move but not enough space to hide.
3. I do like to think that shrimps cannot take much CO2, so finding a balance is usually a delicate task. But from the looks, the shrimps are well oxygenated.
Suggestions:
- Left side could use some renovation, more hiding place.
- I don't know about you, but I'd say you could use a battery operated electronic thermometer.
- Can consider 1x Head Led light but modified to tie with the light stand.
- Can consider 1x Solar operated Toy Fan. Perhaps to the left inner corner. panel pointing at your light. Do not need to have battery to store power, just follow the cycle of the light will do. I am planning to get two or three of these perhaps next week or the following week.
How about it?
thanks.
- the left side i got put some german moss and waiting for it to grow bigger patch.
- how much is the electronic termometer? mine tat 1 bought from daiso 2 bucks only..
- wat's the head led light use for?
- where to get the solar toy fan? i actually got a fan placing left side.. if u can see the clip.
Hmm...I actually want to get one thermometer yesterday but the Bukit Batok market LFS was not open. Rough guide is less than $5-10, but I will keep you posted on it again. Hee, I used to get that thermometer of yours too for my luohan tank until I see my friend's luohan breaks the thermometer and killed itself. =P
Okay, remember those people who fix car, go under the car with rubber band like torchlight? or when explorers go into cave with a light on their head? I think you get the picture, now it is not one light but a multiple array of leds, bright but not heaty.
Clip fan generate magnetic interference, just bring a radio near to the fan and you can see what I mean. I certainly do not want my stuffs to be magnetised. So I would go for mini mini solar fan. Here is an impression of it.

I will joss down to Sim Lim Square soon for them soon. They are considered as DIY Educational Kits. Hey! anything to lower that water temperature right? This is one of my researched hobby if you are following at the member lounge section in AQ.

solar but need sufficient light to operate it. i saw a few solar fan selling at those gadget online shop. but a lot review say need bright light.
im IT developer. not engineering. i only know how to write coding but dunno how to play those wire stuff. lol
Dude, I am also from IT. I write codes, I can be an engineer, network engineer, server engineer or even db administrator. But best of all, I started out studying accounting! I sorta doing a lot of DIYs since I am a homemaker like some of the hobbist here.
Guys I think, need to learn how to do DIYs. Well, even YouTube also teach you how to maintain aircon, wash the condenser stuffs like that, so I pick up some skills from Youtube too. Moreover, these kits usually comes with instructions, they are not called educational kit for nothing. I will leave it to you to decide if you want to give it a shot or not. If not, just read around until you think you have the "fire" to try it. Don't have to be now, can be next year also.
I have been looking into solar thingies for 4 years btw before I decided to go ahead to try it. Should be able to post the pictures up once my current tank (which is still in process) is completed.
ahha.. i know DIY but getting the correct components/calculating the power is headache..
maybe when i upgrade my tank to 2 ft, then i shall DIY some stuff.
ha...okay, no problem. starting usually takes a elephant step, slow and heavy.
That would be a good idea. You can start by budgeting, whilst walking around, you can prepare what you want to get in terms of equipment. At the same time, you take down the price list using your handphone memo function.
