Thank you for all the suggestions!
However, the tank my friend gave me is a bit higher than expected. So likely I will buy another piece of acrylic.

Is the tank made of glass or acrylic?
If you've learnt, teach, if you have, give.

I do not think that solvent can melt glass.

btw, do they have circle cutting tool for dremel?

Received my Dremel set just now. No drill bits and no circle cutting tool, guess I need to buy them somewhere.
Cutting the 6mm acrylic is still a very big challenge, but at least I manage to score a line easily for manual breaking.

Anyway, manage to do a bit of innovation works and silicon one side of the acrylic. Will be proceeding with the other side tomorrow. Let's all hope it works, else need to buy more acrylic soon.....

For dremel, can get the parts from homefix. IF you are cheapo, like me sometimes, then can get some parts from diaso..but be warned that the daiso parts are really quite slack compared to the dremel parts.
There are a few cutting tools to choose from.

get the bits set for roughly about$75 or you can get the bits from diaso for $2 a piece, just pick and match.

Re: Forced to make a purchase

Hi guys, if you're looking for a tool to cut acrylic nice and straight, I've just a thing. An acrylic cutter they call it. Each cut will only take you 1 minute or 2. Here in JB they're selling less than RM30 and you can find it in normal hardware shop. It's as easy as ABC with those in hand. Cut it until it reaches about half the thickness (with the help of something straight & long) and just break it off. Bought 1 for my company and everyone borrows it...

that solvent is not meant for melting glass

it is more for fusing the acrylics together. It is called chloroform.
