Just got myself 3 IQ3 tanks for my bettas... bought some plants and ornaments and tried some simple aquascaping...

I did not use any base soil, however, in its place, I am using liquid plant fert. Will this work for the plants?

Dabiddo, I would take out the plant in the middle IQ3 tank. The one with white veins on the leaves. That is a terrestrial or marsh plant I think, a Fittonia sp., that will not tolerate being submerged for long.

The layout is simple and effective for a purely ornamental tank. Liquid ferts should be sufficient I guess. Are those stone heads from GEX?
