nope will not, probably something else. please post your tank spec like, how old is the setup, filter flow, pH, temp, etc

Tank: 1ft
Filter: HOF
Temp: 20-26
Setup: 1 mth ago
i dunno the pH reading, etc as i don't have any test kits.

PH test kit is about $10. You should get one. What is the bubble rate per second? Count the no. of bubbles per sec.
- Generally what is the color of your water now.
- How frequent do you change water?
- When was the last time you change water.
We will still need that ph reading of yours. You have to measure the tank ph and the water ph from the tap you take water from.

ok. i check my ph liao. 6.7 lidat. my shrimp all staying above water.
i did a 30% water change

you have overdosed carbon dioxide.. they do not have enough oxygen thats why all staying near the water line... don't think they are staying above water...

hahaha. not above water. near water line. lol. how do i solve it?

I would suggest you to redo the mixture...to many bps of CO2 released would also mean your DIY CO2 wont last long anyway. If I'm not mistaken, the water temperature used for the mixture might be too high which caused them to react rapidly.

i saw a few white insect thing in my tank. how do i kill those?

dunno can u all see or not. in middle got 1 white insect stuff

Here is how you can tweak your DIY CO2.
1. When preparing the water, add Bicardonate of Soda, this will prevent the ph of the water from dropping too fast, thus making the DIY thingy last longer.
2. When adding sugar, use your tongue to test it. Don't worry no poison one. Just a drip of it will do.
3. When adding yeast, reduce the amount you are adding now by 1/3.
Once you have tweaked this, observe for another few days. Meantime, if you have a pump you can pump some oxygen in first. 1 hour should be a nice one. Ignore the little whitty first. Someone will come along later and tell you what to do..heh.

That tiny "white insect" is a Cyclops, or some other freshwater crustacean/copepod. It's not lethal for shrimps, and don't really bother them. I have some in my tank.
As for your DIY CO2, I don't think it is a good idea to use them in shrimp tanks. Problem with DIY CO2 is, at night you cannot stop the CO2 bubbles from being produced, since the yeast will continuously produce the gas non-stop. So if you turn off the lights, and your plants are not using up the CO2, it causes the O2 levels in your tank to drop, as the plants revert to taking in O2 instead of CO2 at night.
My advice is to leave the DIY CO2 as it is (if you need it for your plants), and increase aeration in your tank when the lights are off for the night. This should increase the level of oxygen in your water, so your shrimps don't die from asphyxiation..

ok. i have already removed the co2.
where does the cyclops come from?

Rocky, time for your studies
http://www.micrographia.com/specbiol...tm#cyclopslink
They feed on algae, fish feed on them.

haha.. this is getting more n more interesting..
i've been learning a lot about aqua stuff..

That is why I encourage you to study. I actually got a book from Rainbow years back, concentrates more on plants than anything else, today I am still reading it about 200 pages...heh.

whats the book title?

Whale, that picture isn't Cyclops. AQUASAUR took some excellent close-up shots of a female egg-laden Cyclops in one of his picture threads at the Member's Lounge I think.

I know...ha ha.. Just some others which I want to show up here. One Cyclops coming up.
Rocky, it's Shui Cao Pin Zhong Zhuang Ji. Like I said, it's in Chinese.
