    Hi
I got my boyfriend a new tank for xmas (after several not so suitable hints!)
I found this on the practical fishkeeping website whilst doing some research and it looks quite good
    http://www.tankguard.co.uk/
it's called tank guard and it stops algae building up, it seems to work really well, has anyone else used it?
the fish keeping this is more his thing than mine so any advice would be much appreciated
    thanks

I've never seen it being sold here in Singapore, where most of us are from so I can't tell you if it really works. I would suggest that you ask the store people back in the UK if you're from there.

So good... my wife never got me any tank. For me, I wouldn't resort to these products. I would prefer to rely on proper environment control e.g. lighting, water change, algae eating fish, etc.
This forum has a section to discuss on algae problem. Good to post your problem, with photos & tank specification to gather positive feedback

    Hi Kim,

The fun of rearing fish and keep aquatic plants is all about balancing act on the tank environment itself. Hence you might just be interested to get your boyfriend to join AQ instead. Firstly you have an extra ground for communication online. Secondly, the issue with the tank can be highlighted at the forum so that other members can come in to assist, whoever is free. The money saved can then be plough into buying better aquarium equipments to aid the upkeep of the tank. How about that?
