Should i get a bigger M or L size? If the S size works fine then i would not spend anymore money to change the filter.

Depending on your bioload, I don't think the S will be sufficient. From a GEX product guide I found online, they recommend the use of the L for 2 ft tanks.

Note that some of the members here have had noise problems with their GEX HOFs though. So the decision is entirely up to you.

like what i suggest, cut one side of the air tube and put it on any parts like cover and the part touching the tank and it will soften the vibration.

Well you can always use that S + an M to filter the tank. So you don't have to get rid of it.

If i decide to get an external filter, is Eheim Ecco Pro 2032 good?

ecco 2032 is sufficient, but i suggest you get 2034 for higher filtration capacity.

I don't like the Ecco series, because previously, some had issues with the handle breaking. Perhaps they fixed it now, I don't know. However for external filters, you might want to use the Pro series instead (2222 - 222 or the 2227 for Wet/Dry functionality, or just go with an Eden 501 instead. The flow is not too turbulent, and it can handle a decent bio-load, if you're not keeping that many fishes in the 2 ft tank.

Filtration rate is sufficient as well, at it runs at 3 or 4 Watts according to the label. Note that the Eheim filters are planned for use at placement beneath the tank, since their in-built pump is built for pushing the water back up a fair distance. The Eden 501 however, requires to be placed at the same level as the tank.

Yeah have to try and sell it away. Don't really like to stockpile too. Haha

Bought Eheim Ecco pro 130 (2032) due to its smaller size and low wattage power and I am only keeping some shrimps and otto in my tank so the bio load is not going to be very high. Hopefully its a good investment, caused a hole in my pocket. Placed filter behind the tank with water level higher than the filter. Seems to be running well so far.

I'd recommend considering the Eden 501 if you're on a budget. Its about the same price as the Gex "L"

If you don't mind spending more, can consider the Eheim Classic 2213, or the Eheim Pro / Pro II series.

Aha..the classic handle comes out problem. Agree agree 150%!
Now what is the fuss about this handle thingy that locks for the 4 side? If it is not tight enough, at certain point after 2 years, you will find water leaking out from the eheim.

Just threw away my eheim not long ago. Flooded from living room into master bedroom. Have to give it up. Lucky I always have secondary backup or I have been stocking up junks over the years...ha ha.

Well hdarius already purchased a 2032. Let's see how his unit works out. The horror stories I heard from my friends regarding their Ecco units in the past was enough to turn me away from even wanting to get one.

As far as I'm concerned, for a 2 ft tank, Eden 501 is value for money.

My current 2 ft runs on Hydor (From Italy) R10, which technically is sufficient to run a 3ft-4ft tank. Adjustable flow rate. I actually was very skeptical about the design being just one sponge in the center. But once in operation, phew...I surrender. The filer does a better job than I can imagine.

Thanks. Will be more gentle on the priming handle since most people encounter the problem of the handle being broken easily.

=) well, just be yourself, I tried that. Seem like no use. I already know about the handle issue when I bought it as in the first usage, not via reading. It just give way after 3-4 years.
