hi bros and sis. i just got a bag of used sand. the thing is im intending to use it for a low tech tank. However, the sand was previously mixed with base fert.. im using only moss for the scape. will the base fert affect my tank water in terms of its nutrient? i dont want my tank to get algae bloom..

    Advice from boss Felix

You might want to get fresh gravel if you're reusing sand mixed with base fert. I usually only use sand mixed this way as an intermediate layer between my base ferts and fresh gravel when I reuse gravel.

you can go ahead and use it, just have a 1cm layer on top of it. You should be fine.

    Cheers, Christophe
