    Hi,

Would like to get advice with temperature issues with my cherry shrimp tank. I placed my 60cm tank in my room, in the day the temp is around 28 degrees and at night when i get the aircon running the temp drops about 2 to 3 degrees. I don't really want the temperature to fluctuate so much therefore is a fan better in lowering the day temperature or a heater to rise the temperature when the aircon is on?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Going with a fan for the daytime 28C would be my preferred choice. 2 - 3C fluctuating between day and night is really nothing to be concerned about though, as long as the temperature never goes above 30C.

You're lucky you can maintain that temperature range actually, you can probably attempt CRS without a chiller in your area.

Thanks Fuzzy for the advice. Will stick to cherry shrimps for the time being cos its my first attempt with shrimps.

Any fan to recommend? Reading from AQ, most people DIY or they would get those ready made ones. Don't know which LFS to go to get the fan. I'm living in the North area. Any suggestions?

Perhaps you can try Aquastar, Y618, Biotope etc. There are many LFSes in the North region worth giving a try.

Since you're in Serangoon, perhaps one of the LFS at Serangoon North might have fans that you need. Or you can visit NA, near Thomson Medical Centre to get it. Bioplast at Boon Keng might have the fans you want as well.

Cans Sunon Cooling Fan 3000 $18/-, 2nd shop (Guppy Shop) at C328 for $18.
For tank 60L to 100L. Advertise as 3-5C drop

Its noisy but confirm can cool the tank. So far I test 1C down in 1hr, but I finger test the water to be at least 2-3C differences, might be my thermometer faulty. There is also a 1000 model but I don't have a price, estimated to be $11 or so.

Aqua Star got single and double fans. I suggest you go for a big one instead, burn less on your pocket.

I don't think I've seen fans for sale at Bioplast.

Best bets in the Serangoon area are Petmart (Hougang) and Nature Aquarium (Balestier)

    Update:
Cans Sunon Cooling Fan 3000 $18/-, at C328 LFS near coffee shop.
Cans Sunon Cooling Fan 3000 $24/- at Yishun Aqua Star Trading.
This model not found at BioTope.

Calculate your transport fee and decide for yourself. =) BTW, someone selling CRS at marketplace, seem like the grade is not bad.
