    Re: dario dario..

Mine don't eat anything frozen/not alive. Worms type of food are favored, tubifex, grindal worms, microworms etc. Cyclops too, daphnia if nothing else is available. I keep a lot of RCS in the tank so food is a non-issue now, because the dario's prey on the shrimplets. Dario hysginon might be available, but that would be a rare occasion. Don't know of any other dario species, there are other Badis species, but they're bigger, Badis burmanicus is a nice one.

Maybe not, ask your local LFS what he feeds them, maybe they're used to frozen food and you'd be ok.

For mine, they are doing fine with frozen bloodworms but not really frozen brineshrimps. But initially I started off with live worms.

ya, i was recommended to keep these as per advice from Illumnae, but understand from alot of people that they dont favour hikari pellets.

The " Scarlet Badis " is actually a Dario. It has been labeled the scarlet badis. But they are different species of fish.

    Re: Dario dario..

I've been keeping four of these in my community tank with galaxies and endlers for about a year now.

Mine eat live tubifex with gusto. They're not so much interested in foods which are not moving. They do, however, scavenge around the java moss from time to time. Not much success in getting them onto dried/frozen foods. Live food's still the way to go for these little cuties.
    Cheers,
