MH bulb

Can anyone recommend a suitable 150W MH bulb for planted tanks? And where to get?

Are you referring to single ended or double ended MH bulb? Osram and Iwasaki 6500k MH bulbs are good choices. However, Iwasaki MH tends to have a yellowish tint after 1 year. Not sure about Osram though. Maybe you can PM Sherwin since he is using Osram MH.

For Iwasaki MH bulbs, go to Eye Lighting. Do a search for the address.

Hi, Don't think Osram is available at Eye Lighting as Eye Lighting and Iwasaki is actually the same company. Similiar to Panasonic and Masu****a.

Look for Bernard at Eye Lighting if you want the Iwasaki bulb. He is very helpful.

I am looking at DE bulbs.

I understand that OSRAM bulbs don't have 6500K, only 5200K.

Between 5200K and 6500K, how much difference does it make to the plants growth?

Osram do have 6500K Mh bulb. I was told that Teo's 9ft and Sherwin's 4ft are using them. Osram is also cheaper than Iwasaki.

i looked through the OSRAM catalog at the light shop at jln besar on sunday, and for 150W MH bulbs, don't seem to have 6500K ones.
anyone knows the model number of the OSRAM 6500K bulb?

The catalogue doesnt show the 6500K MH bulb. I was surprised to find Teo's 9ft using them when I went for the 9ft setup earlier this year. Too bad I bought the Iwasakis already, or I could save some money. I also want to know where to get the Osram 6500K MH bulb.

I have just emailed to OSRAM sales office to ask about the 6500K bulbs. Let's see if I get any reply.
Do you know the model of the bulb?
