    Hi folks,
any one has infor/charts on how much co2 to pump into a tank? Like any form of calculations? I've read the ADA plant book. It has this chart, but im not too sure how to actually get co2 into the tank in the form of mg/L as we all control the input by using the bubble counter.

    Show me some light peeps!!!

    Re: Co2 calculation

    few ways:
    1) kH and pH chart, you will need kH and pH test kit. Only work if you are sure there is nothing that effect your tank kH and pH.
    2) Drop checker, it estimate the amount of CO2 in the tank in simple way. blue = too little, green = just right and yellow too much
    3) Pump as much as possible slowly until the fish gasping for air and then turn down couple of bubble

The 3rd option from Robert can asphyxiate the fish and cause them to die if not closely monitored. I don't think it is wise to do this. Go with the bubble checker instead.

Ehey Shadow, nice blog u've got there bro!

Hmm. The 3rd method that pumps as much as possible, wuldnt it cause a drastic decrease in the pH level? I thought it must have an equilibrium? The ADA plant handbook that co2 table, its kind of difficult to inject co2 using mg/L as i don't knw how much bubbles is = to 1mg =/

and and, normally how many bubbles do u pump in per min or secs?

it is depend on tank size as well as how you inject it.
