Where can I buy a 2.5ft glass tank? Advise please...

Hello, I'm looking for a glass tank that measures in BETWEEN 2ft & 3ft (roughly about L75cm W40cm H40cm). Is a tank of this length available in the market? Seems that most LFS only have 2ft or 3ft tanks - but nothing in between.

1. Anyone knows of any place that sells a wide range of glass tanks(with cabinets)?

2. Which are the places you'd recommend (that offers good-value-for-$$$ glass tanks)?

Actually for the price diff, u might as well go for the 3 ft one, less u have a space constraint. Lets think from another direction...how abt the lights, accessories etc.?

Anyway, just not to be a wet blanket to you, u can try QianHu, Serangoon North. Farmart...cannot make it. The Container beside the main one has been converted to a Mart liao. Last went, saw a lot of stuffs for Planted Tanks. And ya...a lot of lights and tanks. You might be able to find what you want there.

Hello KnightStriker, yep, I do have a space constraint! I think 80cm is the very maximum I can go...but yet I don't wish to invest on a 2ft tank(coz I don't think I'll be satisfied with that. hehee..)

Btw, You mentioned this, "Lets think from another direction...how abt the lights, accessories etc.?quot; Do you mean that it'll be difficult to find lights of the correct size for a 2.5ft? (I thought there are those adjustable ones?) Wah, Qianhu...time for excursion...I live in Tampines! haha...

Well..if u look at normal shops, find the right Lamp with the right length, its a hassle...replacement I am talking here...esp the 6.5k type.

But thats not the end of the world. I saw quite a lot of lights at QianHu. Basically consisting of different size. However, I din notice if there is any for 2.5 ft. Nevertheless, the chance is quite high.

For 2.5 ft tanks, I believe u can find it there.

There is an distributer somewhere outside Fajar Secondary School. Its along the main road. You should be able to find 2.5ft there but lights..think u have to look somewhere else. Goto StreetDrirectory website, u should not have problem locating the School.

Light is important. One thing I think I did wrong was to focus too much on the tank and forget about lightings. Both have to be looked at together. Well I must say there are 2.5ft lights but what is important is not whether the light will fit the tank but rather how the light is constructed to give you minimum blind-spot within the tank, particularly the left and right side of the tank.

Most 2.5ft lights use 36W PL or 2ft FL (watt??) and with its ballast on the side, the light emitted tends to shine downward in the centre only. Do take that into consideration and look for one that gives the best distribution of light.
