soltari007, Yes. I can confirm that. My friend who don't usually forum, did that with Sterbai. He gave me 12 pieces adults, and I gave some to Edmundo as well. It was 4 years back.

I remember Seng Bros Tropical Fish Farm, 50 Neo Tiew Rd is corydoras specialist. The forum moderators know them well.

    Re: Corydoras Breeding

Just require a cool period, good water flow and good feeding. The corydoras can spawn in our water. Though not all species will cooperate with you whenever you want them to. All the usual dwarf species have been spawned here, with pygmaeus and hastatus probably the easiest to trigger. C. habrosus requires more work.

As for the larger species, in the home tank, sterbai will willingly spawn, as will trilineatus. Rest I cannot comment because at times what you get at the LFS are probably all male. Those "king-kong" sized ones are probably old breeding stock from the farm and maybe unable to spawn anymore.. some of them come with their pelvic fins cut...which renders the female unable to deposit her eggs.

What I did before to induce spawning was to do a large water change and soon you will see eggs.

Breed C.aeneus twice in my comm tank. Fed them with frozen blood worms over the weekends, did 30% WC & they spawned.

Good link on corydoras questions & spawning.

    Re: Corydoras Breeding

I often see eggs on plants but goes bad after a few days. What does that mean? Is it because there isn't any male in the tank?

    Re: Corydoras Breeding

Its either the eggs fungused due to not enough aeration/movement of water or as what you have mentioned, the eggs are not fertile.

    Re: Corydoras Breeding

Noted. Does corydoras ever cross breed? Do you think If I intro (quite)similar species like Dupli with my C121 into the tank, will they breed?
