hi nice layout. what's the new of the bushy plant behind the rocks?
looks nice and where can I buy them?

Hi Guys
Here is my 2 feet setup (7 weeks old). Setup on my birthday this year (quite a meaningful way to celebrate)
tank size - 58 x 28 x 34 cm
lighting - 55w x 2 PL
substrate - GEX dark green package
filtration - ehiem 2222
CO2 - 1 bubble per sec with reactor
cooling - fan x 1
fert - wondergro micro and macro
front view
side view
right hand side
left hand side
I need some help to id these 2 plants. Thanks!
Quite happy with it now. think the fishes are quite happy too. (even my shy badis is out swimming in the open very often)
Waiting for the mm on the right to thicken (mm on the left is very thick compare to the mm on the left. maybe because closer to the outlet so more CO2 supply?)to get the bushy effect and also the jap hairgrass to cover the foreground.
Have yet to name this tank yet, any suggestions?
Feel free to give any comments. Thanks!

the new scientific nomenclature for this plant is Hemiantus micrantthemoides (HM), but MM is still commonly used in the trade! just a side note!

hi Wind08, thanks for the clarification.
any idea for my the id for my other 2 plants?
i think the other stem plants on the left is rotala species but i don't know what are they exactly.
the crypt looks like C. wendtii

i remembered that someone planted this is his tank.. another forumer that put up his pictures.
maybe we can ask him if it survived in the water
i think his tank was full of galaxy rasboras![]()
hi bro, nice setup all in a 2ft ? look a bit mess .

Thanks for the id, bro Quixotic. The LFS was keeping it in a tank filled with water so did not suspect it is terrestrial. Mine is starting to sprout new leaves
yeah agree rayade, the stargrass is getting a bit messy, (there is actually quite a lot of rotala sp green and mm/hm behind the stargrass) wanted the tint of redness from stargrass.. time for some trimming. anyway more plants = less algae problem
yup thanks bro Wind08, think bro jervis had it in his red planet tank http://www.aquaticquotient.com/forum...t=41953&page=6
any bro can help confirm id for this plant? C. wendtii ?

tank after 3 months -> have hard time finding my fishes

tank after 5 months -> enough of maintenance, took out most of the stem plants and added a wood with mini java moss

very lush growth! i am very envious of your jap hairgrass lawn.. actually i kind of like the initial scape..

Thanks Xianghao, i also liked my initial scape but maintaining the stem plants is really, esp the mm -> they have very fragile stems and rots easily at the bottom.
My Jap Hairgrass lawn is facinga a bit of a problem now though, they are yellowing, probably because the other crypts are growing all over the place and using up the base fert. Trying hard to rectify this at the moment.. Any advise?
Here is a pic of the lawn during its glory days..

haha i face similar problem with my normal hair grass lawn, and what i do is to harvest some of the hair grass out, or cut the yellowing parts of. also, you can occassionally replenish them with those root fertilisers i guess. hey nice blue shrimps there..

Hi Xianghao
How do you harvest the hairgrass? I tried that before but it was too diffucult to pull out cause the roots were all entangled.
I have just removed the overgrown crypts, trimed away some yellowing jap hairgrass and added some root fertilisers. Quite a challenge to insert root fert though as the lawn is very dense...
Oh yah, those were actually Malayan shrimps. They turned into various colours- dark blue, brown, copper, black...
Thanks robin, still a far cry compared to your tank.Originally Posted by unclerobin;

Tank after 8 months -> minor rescape on the Left handside of the tank. Moss tree growing..
Can see that the crypt parva and crypt lutea are growing all over the place, probably the main culprit of yellowing jap hairgrass... but it actually looks quite nice.. haha
