    Re: newbie tank

wow nice setup. did you cycle your tank? as for the oto i think it's stress. give it sometimes and the colour will be back. btw, what's the size of your tank? where did you buy the rock, i am finding this kind of rock but can't find them at c328.

did you soak your driftwood before putting it into the tank?

    Re: newbie tank

hi bro, all your livestock including the CPO are in very stressed colors. If you haven't cycle the tank, it's a big risk over here. Although CPO are crayfish but it falls on the more sensitive side. and would advise you to change the placement of your DW as it is place to be a potential escape routes for the CPO. Trust me, crayfishes are great escape artist.

Do a search in this forum or google. Cycle means letting the water run for a period of time. There is slow as well as fast cycling. There are means to speed up cycle etc etc. try researching on them.

    Re: newbie tank

Is your wood still jutting out of the tank? Try to keep everything inside the tank as crayfishes are escape artists. IMHO, please cover the tank properly, especially around the HOF area...

    Re: newbie tank

    Never kept CPO before but..

Your water is brown because the driftwood is leeching tannins into the water. Best cured by boiling/soaking driftwood before placing them in the tank.

Your tank is probably not cycled yet.. that's why your fauna are showing signs of stress.

ehh, a proper cycling process is usually 3-4weeks. haha, but i didn't care about the cycling process (cannot stand tank with no shrimps)i then slowly introduced the shrimps after 1week. now after about 6weeks i got about 30 shrimps, 2 oto and 20-30 shrimplet. with a mixture of bee and red sakura shrimps

as for the DW, it's better to soak them using hot water after the water has cool down you can introduce to your tank. hope this helps

I have not seen mosses rooted so far and they stablised themselves by how we tie them and than grow from such stability.

It is wise to clean your DW thouroughly and soak a few time including scrubing them under running water so that the water will not be browny again.

Did you add a plant or additive? If yes, better to do some water changes...
