all the time man. a dead body can disappear within 10 mins if they are all hungry. I have about 50 shrimps of all types like sakura, green, blue, yellow, orange, crs, cbs, sulawesi.
Hi there,
I have a curious situation in my tank.
Am certain i started with 15 sakuras and 10 crs.
Now, am down to 5 sakuras and 9 crs.
Since introducing the shrimps into the tank, i have, to date, picked out 7 dead shrimps.(all sakuras)They were removed,i believe, fairly quickly after death occured, for i often observe my 'tank telly'. Even unfinished food is removed 2hours after each feeding.
What happened then, to the 4 missing bodies?
Did they die under the pieces of wood and were chomped up by the other shrimps? Could this have polluted the water and caused the mysterious and recent deaths of the 7 sakuras?
Please advise... much appreciated!

Yes they do.
Always better to scope up any dead bodies as they might died due to infection or disease. Thus other shrimps that eat them might get infected too.
Sometimes they hide themselves thus its not easy to spot them.

yes, my shrimps do eat up their dead partners too.

shrimps is scavenger, so yes they will.
