Are they hanging around the water surface of the side walls? Maybe presence of pesticides or some other kind of residual chemical from the plants?

My shrimps seem to be hanging on the water surface after I added some golden nana which I bought from jln kayu. I immediately add an air pump to alleviate any drop in oxygen level and I did a water change and it help to a good degree of success with some still hanging on the surface.
My borara brigittae seem unaffected by the addition and I have washed the plants thoroughly under running water and left them to stand overnight in clean water and were rewashed again before adding them to my tank.
I have seen such situations before and rectified it with the same solution, but I can never seem to pinpoint the cause of it. Can anyone tell me how the introduction of the plants could lead to the shrimps scampering for the surface?

or they are just feeding on surface particles

Nope, definitely not feeding. Did not consider pesticide since I had washed the plants thouroughly, but knowing the amount and the concoction they used for pestillence, I think that might be the cause of it. Any idea how to clean the plants?
Use activated carbon to flush out

thanks, forgot about that. I think I will use zeolite too.
