Hi there,
They are very peaceful and not known to eat algae... they eat mirco- organisms... They don't have the capability to attack fishes.
do u know of any fish that will eat algae other then oto, SAE, normal pleco and yamoto shrimps
NO it wont eat algae but it is gd at eating tiny particle floating ard in the water.Clean yr water. KEKE. Wont eat fish. Always like to stay at outlet of my filter. Sometime it will scout ard the bottom of the tank for food(scraps). Interesting n beautiful!!!
After intro Wood shrimp to tank the floating debris reduced.. but now getting abit worried as there is no more floating stuff in the tank...
wanted to feed it with pellet/baby food but was kind of difficult to get it to them...

No worry, when u feed yr fish, there will tiny scraps for it to eat.

Like to add a correction to my first statement. It might eat algae which is suspended floating around and comes into path of their 'fans'.
wood shrimp are basically filter feeders. They feed on whatever gets trapped in the filter like appendages.. which is why they usually position themselves in the same path as the the water current (unless the flow is very strong). So they do eat algae... but just the suspended ones...
For me I just enjoy the way the eat... quite fun to watch... plus it makes a good conversation topic when guests come.
