My tank measures at 30in(L) 13in(B) 16in(H)

Anyone knows how many gal is it?

1 US gal = 0.134 ft³ = 231 in³ = 3.79 L

the rule of thumb is 3 watts to the gallon......however intensity has a part to play.....if you are using FL or PL, perhaps 4 to 5 watts per gallon.

will then lenght of the tube have any effect?

for eg:
if i'm using a 2.5ft tank, is 16in 55W lights enuf?
or do i have to change to longer tubes?

Longer tube that fit tank size, lesser dark corners.
But keep to about 3W/gallon.
