the female finally laid her eggs, how do i see if the eggs are ferterlized or not ?
estimated time of eggs laid , last night , between 12am to 10am.. i was asleep..
If they don't turn white, then they are fertilised. I think for agassizii, their eggs are red/pinkish-red in colour if fertile.

i guess my male is not realiable... i somehow see white eggs.............
I may be wrong on the agassizii egg colour though. Do you see any that are yellow?

The colour of the eggs depends on the diet of the fish itself.
If I am not wrong.

Livestock: WC Ivanacara Adoketa, WC Apistogramma Kelleri 'Red Cheeks', A , WC Apistogramma Mendezi, WC Apistogramma Cruziero, WC Apistogramma Elizabethae and WC Biotoecus Operularis.
I think same species of fish can have different coloured eggs too. White may not mean they are infertile.

In most cases, if they turn opaque white they are not fertile. However, as long as they don't turn fuzzy with fungus, it's of little concern. Besides, good apisto mothers usually remove the dud eggs early on.![]()

no more eggs, guessed she feels threaten or not fertelized. hopefully she can lay again soon. oh well.
how long does the female take to be able to lay?

Within a week or two from the last egg laying sequence, depending on how well she is fed. If you give her more live food, like adult brine shrimp, she will fatten up faster and start to breed again soon enough. It is possible that you might have an infertile male. Wait for the next spawn. If it happens and you don't see a viable spawn, there is only 2 possibilities:
1) the male is a dud
2) the female is not good at handling eggs
Either way, if it happens it's not good for breeding at all. Some captive bred strains are not very good parents, because of various reasons.

will monitor again when the female lay eggs , if the male is a dud , then i will feed him to my spotted gar !![]()

It may take more than one attempt for a pair to spawn successfully.
