Where to buy live bloodworm?

Hi bros,

Just started keeping dwarf puffer recently. They are really 1 big fussy eater refusing all frozen (non-alive) food. Have to resort to feeding live brine shrimps, snails, live daphnia.

Just wondering where i can find live blood worm to add to their diet.

Try feeding live tubifex worms

Normally its very hard to get or rather find "live blood worms" anymore as fishes get sick easily from it( bacteria ) So they are selling them frozen then alive ones. Maybe its available to get in farms? Sometimes i would find 1 or 2 live blood worms from live tubifex i bought. So there may be chances of getting them in farms.

A store in Bukit Batok West occasionally stocks live bloodworm, but I am not sure now since I haven't paid a visit in nearly a year. You should ask your local LFS if they will bring in some for you. It's not so much bacteria from the bloodworm, but the fact that the bloodworm will eventually metamorphose into a midge fly.

Thanks for the replies guys. May get tubifex worms and try instead.
They will not take anything that is not moving..... Sighhh so frozen food is out for me.

You want a tip? Get a pair of tweezers. Thaw a cube of frozen BW, and using the tweezers, pick some up then immerse it into the tank. Make sure you keep the BW held with the tweezers. Then just swish it around in the tank. The puffer will probably go for it if it notices the movement.

? I never seen any live bloodworm at either place. You are probably referring to tubifex worm.

A note, the shop at Bukit Batok West no longer stocks live bloodworm.
