how to keep hair grass short??

Hi! I am newbie here. My hair grass grow as long as 7inch. Is it normal? I was thinking to grow something like the carpet type of effect short & tidy but cannot achieve. Expert out there pls help!!!

My tank spec:-
tank size 90X40X45.
lighting 4X25watts.
temp 26C degree.

did you buy the long type of hairgrass?
maybe the sifus can enlighten u with the scientific name!

doesnt look like eleocharis vivipara (can tell if you see daughter plants at teh tip of the leaf blade)

Eleocharis acicularis can grow till about 25cm, easily more than 7 inches... so this might be it.

But even 'short' hairgrass, eleocharis parvulus can grow till about 15 cm which is about 6 inches...

So maybe it is still the short hairgrass afterall...

make it short? just trim off the top can liaoz... that's what i always do! i enjoy doing it... very stress relieving during exams!!! haha... but think i overdid it a little... now a bit botak!!![] [] []
