    Hi,

I have a 1.5ft quite heavily planted tank with 2 SAEs and 2 Otos and some shrimps + snails in it.

I do not intend to breed the shrimps (blue shrimps) on a pro scale, but still wish to see some form of reproduction going on, seeing some shrimplets here and there would be nice.

The question is, I know the snails and otos are shrimplet safe, but how about the SAEs?

Will they hunt all the shrimplets down? or will some eventually survive to adulthood?

    Re: SAEs and Tiger Shrimps

SAEs grow to quite a huge size and are very greedy fishes. I have 3 in my fish tank now and they are getting more and more irritating coz they're snatching all the food.

And yes they eat all kinds of food including live ones so unless there are more than sufficient hiding places for your shrimplets they will get hunted down sooner or later.

When the SAEs are juveniles, they prefer algae n soft leaf plants, but when they reach adulthood they will eat live food if presented to them. They won't hunt the adult shrimps or snails but should a shrimplet stray within their reach, they'll eat it.

hmm mine's about 2 inches right now, so should be ok right?

anyway sad thing about SAEs, if only they stayed at 2-3inches at adulthood and not 6 inches =P
