    Hi all. was looking at these 2 pic from the net

    http://www.apistoworldhk.com/shop/pr...oducts_id=1402
    http://www.apistoworldhk.com/shop/pr...oducts_id=1026

    Both are started as 瑪妮可亞卡西-Ap. agassizii "manicore" but the color is so different. Is it tagged wrongly or common for all the same species to have different colors? Pics taken during different mood?

    Please enlighten me thanks.

    For me, both looks similar coloration. Except for the older specimen picture, the lights from the camera hit the fish at the right angle thus properly illuminating it, making it stand out more then the juvenile piece. Also, them being an adult and juvenile will also exhibit some slight differences in coloration.

    And, some apistos are polychromatic. Take for example, A. bitaeniata. Even though they are from the same locality, they produce off springs of different colors.

    Yup.
    The 2 picture show 1 in juvenile
    the other in adulthood.
    just look at the tail.
    round= juvenile
    spade= adult.

    Not only Bitaeniata,
    Cacatuoides also.
    Triple Red need not produce triple red offspring,
