    Hi,
Today is 9th day of my tank cycling. Have done water testing.

    pH: 6.2
    Ammonia: 2.0
    kH: 1
    Nitrate: 3.0

    My tank setup
    60cm x 23cm x 27cm (2ft)*
Eheim Classic 2213 with Biohome and Eheim CR
    T5 Light 3x24w
    Driftwood
    Lava Rock
Soil - ADA Amazonian II + Custom Soil
Mosura Old Sea Mud at base
    Temp: 22 ~ 25.5 deg using Fan
    DIY CO2
Fert: Wondergro Micro and Macro +
Using BacterMax bought from CRS Haven for beneficial bacteria.

Flora: HC, Riccia, Normal hairgrass, Japanese hairgrass, Fissiden, Narrow fern, Long hairgrass, Moss ball and Frogbite.
Fauna: Wait cycling finish then planning to put CRS.

    My questions:
    1. Now i'm using fert and planning to stop 2 weeks after cycling stable then put CRS. Is that ok?

    2. I realise my long hairgrass start melting and my moss ball got black patch. Normal hairgrass turning yellow and the Frogbite's root got some brownish or rotting. Why is this so?

    3. My current water parameter is it normal?

    4. As for my current setup, how long does it take approximately to make a HC carpet? My light timing 7pm-12am then 5am-9am

hmm bro, just a suggestion.. if you wan a HC carpet, dont grow HG and becareful with riccia. it definitely take months to cover everything. your HG will grow faster than your HC and if your carpet is completed you can see them sticking out. riccia wise i have bad encounter with riccia stuck everywhere in my HC. gave up picking out the riccia and decommed the tank.

might not be that easy, as the HG forms very extensive and tight root systems.. once you pull a bunch, the whole region with the substrate comes up.

    Re: Tank cycling help

Bro.. I would highly suggest you sticking to one type. Once HG spreads all are linked by runners. Once these grows, it probably grows pass the roots of HC. Imagine plucking up some and you end up uprooting your HC.. I'm sure you wouldn't want to see your long waited HC carpet destroyed. It takes a second to uproot it and ages for it to settle back
