How much carbon to get rid of yellowish water?

Hi guys,

I use a soil based substrate, which is what I suspect makes my tank's water (both of them) yellowish.

I've read that activated carbon helps to get rid of the tannins in the water. I was wondering anyone used this method before, and if so how much activate carbon was needed?

Look for polybiomarine polyfilter much better than carbon will quickly adsorb/absorb tannins, organics, Phosphates etc we use them here in the states they turn color according to what they adsorb/absorb have used them for 20 yrs They are great and many high end aquarium stores, and Medical researchers including myself use them, I stack them in series in Eheim or aquaclear filters . You mean we can to obtain polybiomarine polyfilter from reef shop. Can polybiomariresh polyfilter apply for fresh water?

Reading on Google, some recommend the use of SeaChem Purigen.
