    Hi Guys,

Do you turn off your supply of co2 when the lights are off? What I did everyday is to reduce the bubble count to around 10sec/bubble, when I turn on the PLC light (18W), I will adjust the bubble count to 2 bubbles per sec.

I just have my tank for 5 days, the plants you see in the picture are more or less there cos my tank is only 45cm x 30cm x 30cm. Next will be introducing shrimps a month later.

    Re: Turn off co2?

I don't turn mine off since it's DIY CO2, but when I had a pressurised CO2 system, I'd turn it off when the lights are off. If the plants are not using it, it can affect the pH of the water by lowering it I think. Besides, why waste CO2 if it's in a pressurised system?

    Re: Turn off co2?

On my solenoid regulator, it is automatically on and off at preset time period.

However, with my manual regulator, I let it run 1-2bps (for a small tank) all the time. I find it too troublesome to on/off either the main or the finetune switch.

    Cheers, Christophe

    Hi Guys,

    Thank you for your feedbacks.

Btw how much will a solenoid cost? I find it rather tedious to turn on/off after a week.
