Please be careful with the scrubbing, you do not want to scratch your glass tank. As for cleaning the algae try to use a soft sponge to remove it.
You get try getting nerite snails. They do eat the green spot algae. And it is quite fun to look at them slowly scraping the algae off.

In my experience, nerite snails only good for those brown algae on your tank glass, if you can't get it off with a sponge, chances are, nerites won't either.
You can try using a razor blade as a last resort.

I kept 2 zebra nerites and 5 horned bumblebee nerites in my 3ft planted tank. They eradicated any green spots algae that I have on the glass and on the anubia leave. And they look very neat too, except that my 2 zebra nerites eventually escaped from the tank and was found dried up under some furnitures.s

yes, sponge cant get rid of it. hard scrub also no use...
Have you tried using a plastic card (like ATM card) as a scraper?
