I bought few days ago a new filter, because former is getting older and won't work much longer.
New filter is Eheim Aquaball Biopower 200 - does it sound familiar to someone else here? Would someone post me a photo how you have placed the filter in tank in water - there are no good pictures available in manual. Instructions weren't clear.
Thank you very much.

Thank you stormhawk!
I placed the filter a bit upper than it was before and now it seems to be working much better.
I simply didn't know about that video - it helped A LOT!
By the way, does that filter has also aerator? I do have a separate rubberpipe which blows oxygen in water. (My tank is also an "old-fasnioned", it's not one of those fine Juwels etc.)
This is cool, I've been here only few days and already getting sooo good advice!![]()

I think that extra part (the aerator) needs to be purchased separately. You should always place the motor unit underwater, because they can heat up and eventually get damaged when exposed to the air.

Okey.. now I got confused..
Should I try to take a picture and put it on my photobucket - and if you could check did I set it right in tank, stormhawk? I can't lift it much more because the roofglass is stopping it.
Practically I don't know very much about these mechanical things, I try to read manuals etc. but they are so..poor. Or my brain is.![]()
Yes a picture would help. I will edit it to show you where you should position it.

Okay - I'll take the picture in this weekend. I'll let you know when it's available.
My photobucket ID is same as here (I think), but I'll wait until tomorrow since it's getting quite dark outside now and I have no big roomlight yet in the room where the tank is positioned.
I did waterchanges a few days ago so the water got maybe too high - so it's really good to know how to place it right. The heater is right next to it with old filter (the latter will be removed after a week), so maybe you'll check that too?
I'm so "out" from these technical things even if I try to study books about them..
I'll add other photos there too if the fish are willing to show up themselves for the camera.![]()
Alright. Well basically speaking, the entire internal filter should be submerged below the water line. Likewise with the heater. For heaters, a cage like outer cover might be necessary to prevent smaller fish from coming into contact with the heater's body.

it seems like it does have a aerator , just keep the air pipe above the waterline , might be noisy thou , by the way whats the size of your tank ?
limz-77 - I have 112 l tank (about 25 gall I think).
stormhawk - I have the filter and the heater now submerged in water - only the thin pipe coming from filter's upper side towards up is not submerged, but the thin pipe going from top side of filter is..
I most have blondie's brain, I just don't get it from any manuals, I need a picture or something visual to understand.![]()
