Just got my Atman canister filter media changed and washed last weekend.

Discovered the canister leak when it is tilited slightly. Also when I tried to put the canister into the cupboard, I tilted it slightly and the water leak from the side.

Is this a usual problem with canister filter?

The funny thing is the canister filter did not leak even when it is on and running, but water will sip once it gets tilted.

    Please advise..... thanks.

    this usually happen when:

    1. Too much media in filter basket
    2. Power head rubber ring is not secured properly
    3. Power head rubber ring my be worn soon

    i go with the o-ring
anyway, go to the place where you bought it and ask the owner, usually best way to find out whether this is normal or not
if it's not, it's also the best place to get replacement parts

Had the same prob when i purchased my 2nd hand atman cannister filter, except mine was leaking slightly even when its running. inspected the rubber seal and found that its slightly compressed and hardened. added a layer of cut, measured to size thin rubber (which i happen to have in my store) and solved the problem. but this is a bit troublesome, and involves a bit of trial n error for the placement of diy rubber seal. tested a few times before getting it sealed for good till now. been bout 1.5 yrs now.

    cheers!
