Just to share with you guys on how i DIY Lily Pipe Springwasher cleaner.
Cost $6 only.
Items require:
1) bending rod that use for picking up magnet, it wrote that it will rust, so far after few rounds of testing still no rust cause yet.
2) brush, get those hard one for easy cleaning
3) Superglue GEL type, dont get liquid one, you still can use this for gluing moss or fern on rocks and woods.
Accessories for DIY:
1) Pliers
Description:
All items can be bought at Daiso, the bending rod is use for picking up screws, infront is attached with a magnet, just cut off the front that attached the magnet, cut the small brush till left small part to attach into the hole of the rod, after the cut you better twist back the wire before all brush drop off, use Superglue GEL type to glue the brush tip into the hole of the rod. It can clean 12-16mm lily pipe.
Attached pic is the part and action. You can see the brush stick with lots of dirt's during cleaning. The orange handle of the rod you can rotate it to clean if the dirt's is hard to clean.

Hi, this is a great diy. Really very creative. Not meant to be a wet blanket or anything, but I think i've seen GEX brand pipe cleaner at almost as low price as this.

No worries bro. I've seen Gex and Marina one but the result is not as good as this. Maybe due to the brush(i choose those semi-hard one) selection and also the handle you can control during the cleaning process. If the brush worn out you just replace it, maneuver wise this is great especially for Lily pipe curvature, the problem due to the brush length that cut, if is longer the bending would be a major problem for Lily pipe, during cleaning i dont have to dismantle the pipe, i just go in from the Lily pipe mouth, then use the net to collect the dirt's when switching on the filter.

The brush should be a softer type, because if it is too rigid you might damage the inside of the glass pipe. Good idea to use the flexible bending rod as a base.![]()
