    Re: help in microworm?

    Read this:

    http://scienceray.com/biology/microb...re-microworms/

I used the oatmeal method in the past, but it is easy to attract flies and other insects to the culture. If you did not keep it covered, mold will start growing soon and your worms will die when that happens.

If you have a culture now, just remember to subculture regularly. You never know when the main culture will crash. IME, they last for roughly 2 weeks or a little more before crashing.

    Re: help in microworm?

Crash is when the culture stops reproducing and the worms start to die. Before that happens it is best to sub-culture, basically remake more new cultures. Otherwise you will have to get them again from others.

    Re: help in microworm?

I normally make 2-3 cultures of microworm in case one culture dies. One more thing, the culture is very smelly

    Re: help in microworm?

A note on using microworms. Do not feed your fry exclusively on just microworms. They are not suitable as a primary diet, but great for tiny fry in their first 1-2 weeks. For other fry, used in combination with BBS and daphnia, it is a great supplement.
