Guys, I found a fluid filled cyst on one of my cardinal tetra which is growing slightly bigger by the day although the fish seem healthy and eating. Anyway, I removed it from the tank into a container to observe. Looks similar to below I found on internet. Anyone knows how to treat it?

I have one as well but luckily I manage to isolate it before spread.

What happened to the one isolated? I think you meant seperated? Mine seem ok so far in the seperate container but I'm worried that there is nothing I can do except to wait...![]()

O2,
Shadow is correct. Isolate it. Hospital with air pump. Don't put filter first. You can clear the tank manually. You will need Ocean Free Red Med - aka Gill, Fungus, Parasites Special. Definitely no carbon filter.
Either you put the little one out of misery or you can try to treat it with Red Med. for the intestinal infection. At one stage it will burst open and the fish will be gone. The parasites are growing in the intestines. Do keep the water clean in your main tank.
wynx, glad you still around remember me? >"< hee.

An update, the cyst disappear and no signs of any abnormality for more than 1 week. So, I release it back into the tank. So far so good. Luckily, the fish survived![]()

=) That's great! Actually good to keep it monitoring for another week. Just put the hospital tank near to main tank so it doesn't feel lonely.
