Hi,
You mean 3g or 3 feet? I'm using a similar setup for my 2 ft tank. 4x24watt with 2 tubes @12000k and 2 tubes @6700k. so far so good.
Hi all,
I am currently using a 4X24W T5 lighting with 12000k for my 3g tank. However i was thinking of changing 2 of the 12000k light to 6700k. Would it make a different in terms of plant growth? Currently there is some crypts, spiky and stringy mosses, some anubus, hairgrass and other unidentified plants. I also have DIY co2 running. However no fertilizers yet.
Thanks.

i mean 3g.. 30x20x25cm. Thanks =)
30x20x35 with 4x24W T5HO, I hope you know what you are doing.
I think too much light for that small tank. Sharing my thinking
20+10 Gallon Tank Link | Light55w(PL) and Light13w(PL) | Normal Filter800L/per.hr | 3xDriftwood
Kinda overkill for the lighting.
Tilt your lights over, remove the plastic half. Turn one of tube until it is no longer in contact with the sides or remove the tube totally. Run 3 first and try. 2 is not enough. If it really cannot make it then you go ahead with your modifications. How about that?
Thanks! i will try that...cause that the only light i have now so i guess have to stick with it till i get a more suitable one..btw if the light is too strong will it kill the plants?
some ferns i think will 'burn' under too intense lighting.. not sure in your case will have any adverse effect.
but for sure 96 watts of light for 3g tank is super overkill! probably get those clip on light around 18/24 watt should be more than enough?
Light don't kill. Heat will and not only limited to water plants. Fan recommended.
if light to strong, without proper balance of fertilizer and CO2, it will invite algae grow
Shadow,
That's right. Then it's back to the basics again.

Alright.. thanks for the advice.. will get a new light for the tank before there is any algae breakout =)
