unless your light is on, no need for CO2. once the light is off, the plant will not take in CO2 and output O2 instead. then too much CO2 will be in the water.

When is black out, is better to off the CO2 otherwise will endanger your fauna as too much CO2 in the water.
But will shutting down the CO2 at night affect the pH of the water?
Did not turn off my CO2 at night cos afraid it will affect the PH of the water by turing on and off it daily.
ph will change due to difference in co2 concentration.
the advantage of switching on and off co2 injection is that you can maximize co2 injection level during the photo period. this benefits plants greatly.
if you do not want to switch on/off co2, it is fine as well. adjust the constant co2 injection concentration such that your fauna are not gasping for air during the non-photo period.

I don't think it will effect much, in the wild the PH will raise and fall becouse of day(plant do photo/Co2 lesser) and night(plant give out Co2/more Co2), don't think the litter change in your tank(after cycle) will do much to you fauna, should be fine.
