Logically, 2x36W eBallast cannot support 2x55W PL tubes.

If Nature Aquarium (see LFS list) is near to your location, they have reasonable prices for PL tubes and eBallasts.

    2x36watt e-ballast cannot support 2x55watt.

you can try sinter electronics on 3rd floor of sim lim tower. they sell quite a lot of e-ballast and tubes.

NA sells both 36W and 55W tubes as well as e-ballast. I got both types from them.

FRom my understanding, it is not possible to change 2 x 36 W to 2 x 55 W as the casing is not big enough to hold tube. Check with nauture

    Hi,

r u talking abt the length of the tube or the width? I believe they are the same length and width as i got both type of tube at the same time. end-end for two tubes is < 4ft.

55W and 36W PL are of different lengths.

    55W PL is 533mm and 36W PL is 411mm.

Heng @ TB have some 2ft 55W light by CR should be e-ballest type, but it come with white/pink tube. I rather like the color combination, but for those who dont like you have to change it on your own to white/white.

    Dennerle,

He meant the length of the tubes, not the light casing.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:

A woman: without her, man is nothing.

you don't use the word 'slimmer' to describe the length of an object.
and the topic of this discussion is pl tubes not light hood.

the length of a 2ft tank is about 600mm while a 55w pl tube is about 533mm. go figure to see if it can fit.
