    Hi all

Currently, I have a 5ft tank. I have make the tank look like a marine setup but it is actually freshwater. I will be adding some colourful shrimps into it and I need ideas on what other small fishes can I add it. I am thinking of 100 pcs of neon tetra. I have friends telling me that it would be good to add gobies, pufferfish, eels that make it look more like a marine setup. Any suggestion.

You can add the eels but your tetra might be food for them. You need to have a sandy substrate though but if you need to use plants, there should be aquatic soil (eg ADA or something similar ) below the sand. I do not know how you are going to pull this off.
If you've learnt, teach, if you have, give.
Don't walk behind me as I might not lead, don't walk in front of me as I might not follow. Walk beside me, as my friend.
Mohamad Rohaizal is my name. If it's too hard, use BFG. I don't mind.

You staying at Tampines? Take a trip to Yun Feng Aquarium at St 81 (full address in LFS directory)

One of the display tanks there has a good variety of African cichilds, you might be able to gather some inspiration from it.

Aggression among cichlids can be managed by getting lots of them, not a problem for a 5ft tank.

Might have to sell off your shrimps though...

GEX magic water is no longer in production as the fishes did not survive eventually. It is a pity as I thought it was revoltionary.

I think for fishes, you could look at more colourful ones like discus, stingrays and crayfishes, although you will not have much of a community if you have stingray in the tank.

If you want something that looks as colourful as a marine fish, try killifish. You can easily purchase Nothos and Aphyosemion australe males at the LFS. If you're not planning on breeding them, and just to display, those males will suit your purposes. They will do fine on a diet of frozen bloodworm and the occasional treat of live BBS/adult BS.
    Fish.. Simply Irresistable
    Back to Killies... slowly.
