    Not Rick, should be Ric.
I think the owner should be the his father who is always at the shop
The 2 sons are running the show.

Hopefully they bring in more fair sex ratio..
If not those early birds can get to choose the best pair..

It is not easy to keep WC apistogrammas.
A lot of work and care needed.

Re: Apistogramma at NKS, 1st Feb 2010

NKS's apistos are wild caught. however the sex ratio isn't up to them. They order by the box per species and the exporter packs them. That's why you can't get even sex ratio and you often get contaminants in each box. The fishermen catch them by the netful and categorize by the most numerous species per box

I really wonder how one & differentiate between WC & farm-bred apistos?

Re: Apistogramma at NKS, 1st Feb 2010

    Very simple,
Most wild caught one will not be as nicely colored as farm bred one.
Captive bred can choose mate, WC mostly do not choose mate.
But the male must be the alpha one.
