    Will angelfish eat/kill oto?

Can't remember anymore from my personal experience.
My gut feeling say they will, but anyone experience that in a densely planted tank.

I know small cardinals/neons will be killed after a while..
I currently have a tanks of few XL size cardinals(30)/black neons(5)/big black neons looking fish (5) (almost has a kinked color black marking from body to tail end), 2 mama saes, 3-4 otos (grew super fat).

However, very very tempted to put a school of angel (5-7-9), and grow them from baby size to adult.

    Tank temperature, 24-26 degrees.

Anyone foresee any problem with the above?

    Cheers, Christophe

Hmm okay I have the opposite problem to yours. Have 2 angels kept in a small office tank, need something to consume algae. I wanted to use golden algae eater, which I normally do but read online that they like to attack angels for their "mucus" LOL. Now otto also cannot, any cheap alternatives? My angels are really small 50 cent size.

Your angels are still small, otos should be fine, anyway, i don't think you will be still be keeping them in the 'small tank' when they are large enough to attack the otos.

If not, you can consider getting dwaft bristlenose, or snails. By the way, what sort of algae are we talking about here?

Okay, btw how to choose healthy ottos? I will buy them from PA tmr, bought once and it died pretty fast :/ Oh its those common on the wall algae which my golden algae eater can wipe out in a couple of days.

    Re: Angel Fish

how to choose otos, so far all i do is to buy them in a few numbers (provided your tank is big enough), so for a 4 feet, you can buy around 5, and do not get them from a tank where you can see dead fishes.

I find them pretty hardy fishes. Now, over a period of 1-2 months, my otos have grown so fat, that I am very tempted to say they are pregnant. Maybe it's the good plant growth (with the powdery green algae) and the cold water.

Active and bright coloured will most likely determine a healthy otto. Correct me if im wrong

My guess is that the otto might be dead then.. the angle fish eat it.
