I am an uncle (art tutor, graphic designer, illustrator), who recently decided to find back his long-time love for fish.

My first pets were black mollies. Bred them too. And I was only 6. I only had a pair and one big plastic tank. Tap water then wasn't so harmful as compared to now (for fishes). I watch them all day long.

Currently have bettas, endlers and guppies. Each fish has their own characteristics and I really applaud the bettas for being so tough. Guppies are actually fragile, from my experience, and please don't toy with the idea that they can adjust to any water condition. Endlers are tougher than guppies, but nevertheless - don't take it for granted.

    Last advice: Research before buying/getting.

    Hi there,

    Welcome to AQ!

Please abide by the rules for buy/sell and refrain from post chalking to get that privillge.

    We strictly frown on this.

I have omitted it out from your 1st post.

    Thanks
    Nicholas

    No worries.

Good to see a hobbist come back to the hobby after so long.

    Enjoy your fish keeping.

    Thanks!

I'm just a noob. Hoping to learn more. But I really cannot find much threads to engage conversations with my minimal knowledge. I'll try to find relevant threads which I've more knowledge in.

    Cheers!

    Dear Airplant,

You could make a post at Beginners' Corner or Aquascaping. Understand you are having some troubles with your current 4ft. There will be other forumers to offer some lights along the way.

The moderators are forgiving if you post wrongly. They will help to remind you so don't take it too personally. They have a tough job just moderating us too. hee.

Sorry for late reply! It's nice to know you're doing graphic designing too. I'm not as good as before though, but am getting better at illustrating/cartooning. lol

Hi, so sorry for late reply! I didn't know how to check replies... not very forum-savvy that time Currently I have dowgraded my 4ft into separate 2 fts and smaller...

Sadly, my endlers didn't breed true. Bought isolated pairs of endlers at a rather high price at aquarium but none of them bred true. It's like they anyhow put female endlers with a nice male, and say they are the same. I'd thought that meant 'same strain' so spent the money. So upset to see the fries grow up into X endlers that I gave up. Now focusing on other fish (that I can be sure they breed true).

No worries, I can understand Mods' situation..
