I'm guessing the foreground plants have runners?

You'll notice that there are many runners running along the front glass. Clear all of that and leave about 1 inch of clear space between the front glass and the base of the front most foreground plants. You'll be surprised how much less dense the remaining foreground is. I find this look neater too.

Next step, thin out the rest of the foreground. Just randomly remove plants so there's more space between the remaining ones. Beware of overdoing it, especially if you can pull out entire strings of plants.

Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.
