Bloody Wine Red shrimps?? How much did you pay for a pair? I remember reading Silane's WTS (Wine Red) last time and the price was, not within my ability for the extreme ones.

So since you said you bought a pair from him, you MANAGED to breedout. WOW, amazing. How many shrimplets did you get?

Is it hard to keep these shrimps and hard to breed? I don't dare to touch these unless I am financially capable as well as when I am very good with shrimp.

Maybe in no time, we can see a list of local shrimp breeders and can even list them according to ranks. Top Breeder, Second Tier Breeder, etc. Than we can even hv a competition for the title of Shrimp King and Shrimp Master.

For the price is depend on the size of shrimp few 100 and up. It will burn one big hole in you wallet.

keeping them can be hard if u do not have the correct temp (i keep at 24c) water change weekly 10% + with a good filter system.

Sometimes, desire is overwhelmed by ability. Can only admire but not venture into ownership (the heart is willing, pocket is weak).

But seriously, it's not just the price that is worrying. Water condition is a big factor. Even if I were to setup a tank of the right perimeters, there may still be some casulties. So, if one is only able to buy 2-5 pieces, success rate is still decimated.

How many did you start with? How many offspring did you get in the first batch (just a rough indication)? If you start with a very small quantity (up to 5) and managed to breed, respect.

If keeping Exotic shrimps are easy then there will not be Exotic prices.

One way to reduce casualties I always buy shrimp that is small as it known to have stronger physically. maybe the RW i bought have stronger build.
My 2rd tip is to cycle the my tank min 3mth and send up a good filter system.

At the start I just buy 2 to try out.
Y my 2 RW able to produce maybe is my luck was good. like you buy Toto and hit the top prize..

Heard about the first tip, that younger shrimps (eg 1.5cm) are usually stronger than adult shrimps.

On tip 2, do you mean, 3 months cycling with other shrimps (or fish/snails) to get the tank to mature?

Lastly, I've never had luck with lottery, so if I am going to venture into something exotic, it means I need more than 1 pair of shrimps.

One question bro. How do we distinct Wine Red from normal CRS? Is there a distinction of color and patterns? I can identify some simply from the special color, but some looks like CRS (patterns).

Reading from some sources/threads, I wonder if there is any chance of getting Wine Red? I mean, I've some CRS (some interbreed) for about 1.5 years now.
