That toy from One Piece? I think, is probably leaching part of the paint used on it. If it was made from a plastic resin, there's also the possibility of poisoning the fish, if the resin starts leaching. Some are not aquarium safe. You should remove it immediately.

As for the pH, you can get the Merck pH test strips from C328 or any LFS that stocks it. I think 1 box is $22 or so. Those measure a long range of pH. Alternatively, just get a pH pen for exact pH measurements.

Test kit for pH range of 5.5 to 7.5 should be fine, what brand is it? and have you checked the batch / expiry date?

I like the API test kits best

Indeed, I like API too. Easy to read, and worth the money.

Seriously for a 3ft tank you need at least 100W. Even that is considered low for more serious aquascapers. [Some go as high as 288W]

Sponge filter is for fish tanks. Get yourself something that doesn't aerate the tank like canister filter with the return positioned below the water level. This is to maintain the CO2 for as long as possible in the water.

No that I mentioned it. I don't see any CO2.

Well after my initial shock, I see what the thread starter is asking about.
That seems to have been answered.
