Dkk08, you are saying that the electrician on the town council aeroplane you, then you can try NTUC Income Home service:
    http://www.income.com.sg/homeservices/
I tried using it before a while back, and the contractor will contact you within minutes or at most 15 minutes.
    24-Hour Hotline: 6788 8788
Hope this time will really solve your problem.

    Re: Need an Electrician

=) Let's hope they don't quote too high.

Just in case. If you are nearby Woodlands Vista Point; Gambas >> Woodlands Ave. 12 >> Drive 16. Goto 2nd floor, beside kopitiam there is one hardware shop. The mother and son combo are malaysian but they do electrical work too. You just need to stop by and shop for the socket you need. If you have just 1 3pin socket. Expanding to 2x2 3pin will save you headaches in future. Even 1x1 + 2x2 should be considered too. Depends on requirement. So long the amp can take it. It depends on how your house was wired in the first place. I tackled that 10 years back during renovation, specifying the circuits for the contractors.

Thanks for the insight blue whale, currently I've a 1 x 3pin wall socket that's blocked by a huge cupboard and I need to use that socket for my tanks so need to extend out and add a few more 3 pin socket as well, they quoted me $65 for each socket not sure if that's expensive…

Oh forgot to mention transportation fees of $25 on weekends as well

Hmm...1x2 cost less than $20. 1 drill and 2 nail coat, you need one short extension cable; if with casing. So workmanship is about $20-25. Not really expensive if you ask me. $25 for weekends, less you do it during weekday. March no holidays, if got leave can apply too. If you want to do it yourself, there will would be trail and error, worst thing here is not to drill the wrong hole. Although you can "mend" it with plaster, paint job differs.
