This is really very nice. Can I know where you managed to find the driftwoods and how long it took you to hunt it down. If I can do a set up like this, there is no doubt my parents will allow me to have a centrepiece tank.

Blue whale: Thanks for your "advice"

    Beetroot: You are welcome.

Purin: I got my driftwoods from Green Chapter in Clementi. You can look for Roland, he will be able to help you out. I believe they have renovated the shop and it is a lot easier to look around for the right piece/s. It took me about 3 months to get the pieces that I want, anyway good luck in hunting for the right wood.

    Hi Ben,

If it is Vallisneria spiralis, then won't it be spiralling like a corkscrew? Yours is straight though.

    Re: First Tank.

Ben, I am here to poison you. Drop by Zender or HomeFix, you'd see this indoor/outdoor double digital thermometer ±$30 depending on model. Its bigger by 2-3x but able to take a reading from the tank and outside the tank (as in room temperature). ^^ BTW., what's the latest update on your current tank? Any nice picts to post up? Your last pict. was coming to two weeks back. Post one and you can compare the growth rate.

    Re: First Tank.

purin: in my mind yes, but it keeps changing when I am looking for the wood.
    unclerobin: Thanks
shrimppaste: I think Vallisneria spiralis is not the leaf that is spiralling like a corkscrew, there is this stem that grows along side the leaf that is spiralling. Maybe I am wrong
bluewhale: Poison indeed . I have just done a major pruning to the tank. Will post pictures when the tank is more presentable.

    Re: First Tank.

    Hi all,

I would like to share the current state of my tank. I did a major pruning to my tank. Reason? It is in a mess!!! The background plants are moving to the front

Over the weekend, took out all the background plants and replanting them.

    Here's the current state.

I will take more effort now to monitor the growth of the plants to prevent/minimise the same issue from happening.

Would also like to show more of the driftwood that were previously covered by the plants.

    Ben

    Re: First Tank.

Bluewhale: Yap after taking out the plants, the fish seems to be lost as there are no place for them to take cover.

reveru: Will try to post if there are significant difference. By the way, how's your tank coming along?

=) I think you will be tempted into the dark side after the workshop. Hence you better start to save this month. If you spot good things, just buy them if it's affordable. Later, when you setup you find you are not so material poor.

    Re: First Tank.

Blue Whale: Yap I am with the dark side for a while, saving and spending. Usually spending more then saving.

Ripley: Thanks, are you starting your tank or you have already one running?

By the way, just found out that I have Nirtate snail eggs on the wood and glass. I understand that it is harmless but if I were to break them, will it cause the water to contaminate? They sure stick like super glue
