No worries. I was very worried you'll introduce MTS hoping to control snails in your tank. Thats like adding more problem to an existing one!

The assassin snail appears to be able to survive on leftover fish/shrimp food and even some algae. They stop reproducing (eggs don't hatch, or babies don't survive, I'm not sure) when they don't get enough meat though.

I know they eat dead fish, frozen bloodworms and sinking shrimp pallets (Supercrusta or something)

Agreed. Horned are smaller and good for cleaning tight spaces and plants. The larger non-spiky (zebra) nerite is good for glass cleaning but they always escape from the tank.
Amano/Yamato shrimps are by far the best diggers but they tend to bully the smaller shrimps so don't get more than 10.

The good (bad?) thing bout both the nerite snail and the yamato shrimp is that they cannot reproduce in freshwater, so you don't have to worry about them taking over your tank

    Hmm,

I dont like Yamato shrimp.. They look like big bully. AS for the horn snail, i had 4 of them but seldom see them dig into for soil for food.

    Hi Eviltank,

I dont mind some of the snail. Where do u stay? If near, maybe can drop by to help remove some of the MTS.
