more filtration is always better.
maybe you can use a canister or hang on filter plus your sponge filter.
that would be better i think.
just provide sufficient hiding places for the fries to hide.
I want to get a 2ft tank ready for pleco fry and want to know whats the best tank setup.
Currently, I have a 2ft bare bottom tank with a bio sponge, is that enough?
I have some neon tetra in the tank. Necessary to add an external filter or something like that?

personally i like my HMF with HOF setup for my L66 juvs. it's cheap and effective![]()
Hamburg Mattenfilter (HMF) is another good alternative![]()

Thanks guys. Hamburg Mattenfilter, don't know what that is, anyway, will try to do a search when I have the time.
It basically works like a giant sponge filter. One of the forum mods here made a modified version for a 4 or 5 ft tank.

do you mean this thread? http://www.aquaticquotient.com/forum...g+Mattenfilter
but I didn't see any giant sponge filter or do you mean the black ones on the left?

for the breeder box it is not necessary to add the sponge as it is sharing the same water from the main tank, just some aeration for the breeder box is sufficient.![]()
