    Re: Mechanical Timer problem

The cheapo ones I'm using are "Soundtech" branded. I believe I paid around $15.00 for a set of 2 pcs from Mustafa Centre.

This brand is available in various stores though, I've been using 3 of them for almost 8 months with no problems. The timing is not super precise, but it gets the job done to around +/- 5 minutes.

Using Soundtech too... around $9+ at homeFIX AMK Hub. But with a 20% off around 1 month ago. So almost the same price at bro Fuzzy. Not sure if the 20% off still valid. Using for my lights and Co2 with no issues so far.

Same model as mine. Stupid question but you did plug in to a socket and turn the socket on right?

Anyway, I just went to Homefix and they are selling for $6.90 each.

    Re: Mechanical Timer problem

Take it back to your point of purchase and get it replaced?

I have one piece that has a dial that is a bit "sticky" but its still working fine, I think the brand is generally ok for the price, but looks like your unit slipped pass QC.

    Re: Mechanical Timer problem

What did you use the timer to control?
When you turn the dial manually, does whatever your controlling comes on?

Get a digital timer .More accurate and less failure. Can preset and different time combi. About $20.

    Re: Mechanical Timer problem

I got 6 pcs of soundtech timers and all work fine. For your case you have 2 "fautly" units in one straight row which is very very rare. Can it be operational problem ? Switch up is to "OFF" and switch down is to "ON". When you turn the dial, turn only clockwise.

Take note you can only configure in 30mins interval though.

    Re: Mechanical Timer problem

thanks for the pics! i think it definitely is better than the ones i'm using being:
    1) you can put 4 side by side!
    2) at least the intervals are well defined. have difficulty setting the current unit.was just based on rough estimate

Yea, this is the only timer I saw small enough to squeeze side by side on a power strip.
