White from what I remember. It was not too expensive. I think was less than 2 red notes.

    To diazman:

The Eden 501 is not designed for use with a skimmer, from the manual's illustrations, but it is still possible. However, in a 1.5 ft tank, I think the skimmer may not be totally necessary. Manual removal of the scum is always cheaper, and less problematic. Using a brine shrimp net, you can easily remove most, if not all of it. Alternatively, you can always get those HOFs with skimmer attached, if you really want, and scrap the 501 altogether. I think Dolphin has such a HOF. However, I do not know the cost of those HOFs.

The Eden 501 is a good filter for small tanks. Does the job well enough provided the tank is not overcrowded. It is of course no match for the Eheim filters in terms of output and capability, but it does the job extremely well and quietly (since some folks have problem with pump noise) for the price it is sold for.

....or you can add some guppy or endler and make sure your plant healthy. Was hearing that healthy plant have less surface oil.

Think it was 15-16 when i was comparing.
I don't trust HOF with bulit-in skimmers, my 1st HOF's skimmer only knew how to sink .

yup i would also like to know if the 2213 flowrate will be too much for a 1.5feet tank. Is there anyway to control the flowrate for eheim cannister?s

im ok with this technique. the only thing i cant stand is to see the layer again after 2 days.

    Good Day Mr Diazman,

I am using a 2213 Fliter for my 1.5 Ft (45 x 40 x 30) which approx 42 Ltrs. And it also connect with a Chiller (HC 100A). My opinion, even with a Chiller, the Return Flow is still quite strong.

    Thks/rgd.

Yes I did, It work fine. even Eheim 2211 work fine with skimmer. I use the normal skimmer, the black one with clear floating thing.

It depends entirely on your requirement and most of it, how deep is your pocket or how deep you decided to save for.

By far, in terms of maintenance wise, the largest collection of Eheim replacements are actually found at Qianhu. You are talking about an entire row of rack dedicated for Eheim replacement including the handles, the canisters, the valves, pipes, accessories, etc. It is almost like you go Qianhu and able to DIY a eheim filter from there...lol. You have to visit it to know what I mean.
